For Halloween, the best snacks are those that require no baking and that kids can assemble themselves: tangerine pumpkins, gummy skewers, cheese witch brooms, apple monsters and chocolate pretzel spider snacks. In this article, you will find ingredients and steps for each of them, tips on how to arrange them on the table, and a few criteria for choosing a serving board, as it makes the first impression. We made all five ideas ourselves, and the result can be seen in the photos.

Before you start, match the ideas to how much time you have and who is helping in the kitchen. All five snacks are made without baking, so children can take part in making them from start to finish.

Ingredients: mandarins, celery sticks.
Peel the mandarins. Cut the celery sticks into small pieces and insert them into the center of each mandarin to create a pumpkin stem. The mandarin naturally resembles a pumpkin shape, so no extra decoration is needed. The snack is fresh and light, making it a great way to balance out the sweets on the table.
Ingredients: colorful gummy candies, wooden skewers.
Thread various gummy candies onto the skewers, combining colors and shapes. The more diverse the set, the more interesting the skewers look. This is an ideal task for children, who can decide for themselves which order to arrange the candies in.
Ingredients: sliced cheese, pretzel sticks, chives.
Cut the cheese into strips, leaving the top part intact. Wrap it around the end of a pretzel stick and tie it with a chive. The pretzel stick serves as the broomstick, and the cheese strips form the messy bristles. It's a good idea to dip the chives in hot water for a moment beforehand, as they become more elastic and easier to tie. This is a tip rather than part of the original recipe, so you can skip it.
Ingredients: apples, mini marshmallows, peanut butter.
Cut the apples into wedges and carve out cutouts that resemble mouths. Spread peanut butter inside the cutouts, then arrange mini marshmallows to look like teeth. The peanut butter acts like glue here, holding the marshmallows in place. If any of your guests have a nut allergy, make sure the snack is properly labeled or prepare a separate portion.
Ingredients: pretzel sticks, melted chocolate.
Break the pretzel sticks into shorter pieces and arrange them into spider legs on a rack. Connect them with melted chocolate to form the body, and wait until the chocolate hardens. A cake cooling rack is practical here because the spiders won't stick to the countertop, and their bottoms remain smooth.

Well-chosen dishes enhance the effect of spooky snacks. Neutral, light ceramic tableware contrasts perfectly with the orange of mandarins and the black of paper bats.
For gummy candies, marshmallows, and small add-ons, the Chuvisco salad bowl 16 cm OXFORD will work great, and for hot cocoa, the Chuvisco mug 350 ml in a speckled ecru pattern. You can find the entire collection under the Chuvisco tab, and more Halloween accessories in the Halloween collection.

Halloween snacks look best when served together on one large surface. This creates a Halloween buffet effect, allowing guests to choose what to reach for. When selecting a board, pay attention to four things:
A good knife will come in handy for cutting apples and cheese. You can find a selection in the kitchen knives and blocks category, for example, the Aspiro AMBITION utility knife. Which Halloween snacks are the easiest?
Tangerine pumpkins and gummy skewers are the easiest. The former only require peeling the fruit and slicing celery, while the latter involve threading gummies onto skewers. Children can prepare both snacks without adult assistance.
Do these snacks require an oven?
No. All five ideas are made without baking. The only step requiring heat is melting chocolate for the chocolate spiders.
What to serve to drink with Halloween snacks?
Warm cocoa or tea goes well with sweet snacks. A mug with a capacity of approx. 350 ml will be convenient, for example from the Chuvisco collection, and you can find more mugs in the mugs category.
How far in advance can you prepare snacks for a Halloween party?
Gummy skewers and chocolate spiders can be prepared in advance. Snacks made from fresh fruit, such as tangerines and apples, are best assembled just before serving so they look fresh.
What is the best way to serve Halloween snacks?
A large wooden board works best, fitting all the snacks at once. We described the selection criteria in the serving board section, and you can find models in the cutting boards category.
