Summer is in full swing, and we are looking for ways to cool down on hot days. What could be better than refreshing, homemade lemonade? Today we will share with you a lemonade recipe that is not only simple but also incredibly tasty and, above all, refreshing! This is a recipe for real lemonade that you can prepare at home with easily available ingredients such as: lemons, cucumber, sugar, and mint.

To prepare homemade lemonade, we will need the following ingredients:

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
At the beginning, prepare all the ingredients. Make sure you have lemons, cucumber, sugar, water, mint leaves, ice, and skewers at hand. Spread all the ingredients out on the counter.
Step 2: Squeeze the lemon juice
Squeeze the juice from four lemons into a large pitcher. Lemon juice is the base of any real lemonade, so it is worth choosing ripe and juicy lemons.
Step 3: Add sugar and water
Add sugar to the pitcher with lemon juice according to your own taste. Then add water and mix thoroughly until the sugar dissolves. Proportions may vary depending on preference, but usually we add about half a cup of sugar per liter of water.
Step 4: Prepare the cucumber
Cut the cucumber into thin slices with a vegetable peeler, then put them on skewers. Cucumber slices will add a refreshing and delicate flavor to the lemonade, which will perfectly complement the lemon.
Step 5: Add the cucumber and chill the lemonade
Add the cucumber slices on skewers to the pitcher of lemonade. Put the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least an hour so that the lemonade cools down well and the flavors meld.
Step 6: Serving the lemonade
When the lemonade is already chilled, prepare glasses with ice cubes and optionally mint leaves. Pour the lemonade into the glasses and enjoy the refreshing drink. You can additionally decorate the glasses with a slice of lemon!
For 1 liter of lemonade, you need about 4 lemons.
It is best to use white sugar for lemonade because it dissolves easily and does not affect the color of the drink. You can also use cane sugar, honey, maple syrup, or stevia as alternatives to white sugar, depending on your taste preferences.
Lemonade is best prepared at least an hour before serving so it has time to cool down and the flavors can meld. It can also be prepared several hours in advance or even a day before, storing it in the refrigerator.
Various spices can be added to lemonade to enrich its flavor. The most popular ones are:
