Roman pot for baking
A Roman pot is a traditional solution for preparing juicy and aromatic dishes in the oven. It is perfect for roasting meats, vegetables, and homemade bread, allowing you to cook without excess fat. This is a way to naturally bring out the flavor of the ingredients.
Made of porous clay, the pot should be soaked for 10–15 minutes before use – thanks to this, it releases moisture during baking, creating ideal conditions for preparing dishes in their own juices. The vessel is placed in a cold oven and heated gradually, avoiding sudden temperature changes (max. 200°C). The pot is suitable for gas and electric ovens, and when baking bread, it is worth greasing its interior and sprinkling it with flour or breadcrumbs. After use, hand washing is recommended – preferably after soaking in warm water, and for tougher dirt, with the addition of baking soda. Periodic boiling in water with vinegar helps remove odors, and storing it in a dry, airy place ensures the durability of the vessel.
